Saturday Conference Reception & Silent Auction

Raise a glass with fellow writers at the Saturday Evening Conference reception featuring heavy hors d'oeuvres for dinner. Bid on your favorite silent auction item and enter our great raffle. The cash bar will serve up everything from mocktails to martinis.

Registered attendees will receive a preview of silent auction and raffle items via email.

Sponsorships are available, some which include conference tickets.

 

Saturday Night Open Mic

Share your original work at our Open Mic, following the Conference Reception. Sign up for a 5-minute reading slot or just come to support and celebrate your fellow attendees’ words.

Lunch

Our 1/12 hour long lunch & networking breaks provides ample time to try one of the many restaurants walking-distance away. Here are our top recommendations:

Sheraton Norfolk Waterside: The hotel will be open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday and Sunday.

The Waterside District :  Exit the hotel’s rear, turn right, and stroll the riverside into the adjacent Waterside District.

  • PDS Street Tacos. This is a new location of our former neighbor, Plaza del Sol. Very good food.
  • Blue Moon Taphouse.
  • Rocky Mountain Grill.
  • Starr Hill Market/Bar.
  • Stripers Waterside.
  • The Fudgery.
  • The Market.
